About the Drive for the 250th

The Drive for the 250th aims to showcase fundraising priorities and engagement activities that will launch during the College’s Anniversary year. These initiatives will excite our alumni and friends to make investments, engage with the College and inspire campus pride during this milestone year. The Drive ultimately will establish a platform for realizing President Andrew Hsu’s vision for the future.

International Scholars Program Opens a World of Opportunity

International scholars benefit from academic mentoring from faculty as well as professional mentoring from members of the LCWA advisory board, giving them the opportunity to build their professional network. “The rigorous transnational cultures of learning provided by the International Scholars Program offers the best outcomes for students.”

Priority of the Month: Global Leadership Institute

International experiential learning is integral to student success. To prepare CofC students on a global scale, the Global Leadership Institute (GLI) will capitalize on the College’s position as a national leader in languages and cultural studies and the existing strength of student participation in study abroad programs.

Tradition and Transformation

Since 1770, The College of Charleston has played a critical and vital role in the city, state, nation and the world. The College’s year-long celebration will reflect on the past, acknowledge the present and boldly imagine its impact on making the world a better place. Our deeply rooted tradition of philanthropy – starting with our first president Robert Smith, who gave of his personal finances to keep the College afloat – continues to this day with donors who have set the stage for the next great era at the College with their generous support.

-President Andrew Hsu and First Lady Rongrong Chen
